vday || get ready with me!

hi everyone!

i filmed and (finally) edited a video of me getting ready for my valentine's day dinner with my bf. i'm still trying to get comfortable in front of the camera, but i'm hoping to do voiceover for my next one! also learned a lot when editing this one, as what was awkward or not, lol. the video includes a full face routine (including trying to conceal a tumor on my chin), and taking my hair out of my curlers; which is part of my no-heat curls routine. well, here's the video, and the list of products will be below.

lmk if there is anything you liked/didn't like about the video.. or requests!

nails || heart tips with glitter

hi everyone!

here's my second valentine's day look for you guys this year! i was hoping to roll out 3 of them, but alas.. school! anyway, the polish is painted over my set of acrylics. unfortunately, the acrylics were driving me crazy since the lady did a horrible job around my cuticles (lots of lifting, bubbles, and overall unevenness) so i soaked them off almost right after i filmed and photographed this nail look, lol.

however! i found a cool way to do fiberglass wraps at home that don't incur the damage that acrylics at the salon do.... so we shall see! either way, i'll be doing my nails more often :)

check out the video below and lmk if you have any questions!

nails || v-day art

hello!

i decided to dust off the filming equipment i bought over christmas and film a quick nail tutorial for some fun valentine's day nail art. i went and got an acyrlic set of nails last week because all of my semi-long nails decided to break because of the cleaning i had been doing lately (the bf and i decided to buy new ikea dressers, so it took a lot of assembling and cleaning!). i got them with no polish for so that i could do some fun nail art for valentine's day!

this month's Julep box included a bonus bottle called 'heartleigh' which is a clear base with white and pink/silver glitter and big heart pieces. i felt like i should incorporate this special polish in with my look. i sponged it on my middle finger in a slight gradient.

anyway, here is the video. enjoy!

for sale || Kate spade card holder

this is a brand new in box Kate Spade glitter bug card holder in Rose gold. the front glitter is all enclosed, so it won't shed everywhere. the back is made of super buttery leather and has 2 card slots plus space in the middle.

I bought the card holder as a gift for my friend and one for myself. but she actually bought me a diff Kate Spade card holder for me too, lol. I love the color but I have no use for it :( that's what I get for being greedy .____.

it retails for $48, I'd like to sell it for at least $40. email me (joeyxbean@gmail) if you're interested or simply purchase through the eBay link below.

happy Monday!

noms || Kopan Ramen

while my bf was getting his monthly haircut this morning, his barber recommended a ramen spot around the corner since we were talking about our favorite foods. I searched on Yelp, and found Kopan Ramen.

the restaurant itself was fairly small but we got there around 15 mins after they opened their doors at 11:30, and was able to get a table for 2 right away.

their menu is super simple. a main pork bone broth that is cooked for 16 hours, and a fully vegetarian option. there are 3 different meats to choose from (pork belly, fatty pork, chicken breast) in 2 sizes(regular/small)--in 3 different spicy levels.

they offer lunch specials that incl ramen and an appetizer for small-$9, regular-$11.

I ordered the small fatty pork ramen w/ cucumber salad.
he ordered the small chicken breast ramen w/ gyoza.

bottom line: the broth was full and flavorful but not too salty. mild was a bit spicy for me :( but was still yummy. noodles didn't seem made in-house, but still had good texture and chew. fatty pork (pork neck) is my favorite meat cut so you can't rly go wrong with that! cucumber salad wasn't as pickled as I like, but had good flavor. and gyoza was served with a yummy ponzu-like sauce.

my bf said this place was 'bomb!' lol so I'm sure we'll be back! it's always nice to find a good ramen spot.
